That has been a productive year!
In the winter, we held a seminar The Northern Russian Renaissance in Kirkenes (Norway). Kristina Dryagina presented a Performance Live Currents at the Arkhangelsk Drama Theater.
In the summer, Ekaterina Sharova was a co-curator of the opening exhibition – Fringe at Arctic Arts Summit in Rovaniemi (Finland), other curators were Maria Huhmarniemi (Finland) and Asthildur Jonsdottir (Iceland).The performance Live Currents was shown at the Taibola festival (Arkhangelsk Region) and at the Access Point festival in St. Petersburg. The Arctic Art Institute took part in the Antisymposium 2019/International Encounters of Community and Environmental Sociology, New forms of contemplation for a new society (Tranemo, Sweden) and in the opening of the Maryin House Art Residence (Chakola village, Arkhangelsk region).
In the autumn, Kristina Dryagina took part in the Curatorial School NEMOSKVA at Satka, Chelyabinsk Region, and Ekaterina Sharova gave a a guest lecture and workshop at the Oslo Art Academy. The last show of the performance Live Currents was held at the Darwin Museum (Moscow). The exhibition Porato Basco (artists Ulyana Podkorytova and Ustina Yakovleva) was organized at the Center for Social Innovation (Museum of the Arctic Development named after A. Borisov, Arkhangelsk).
The Fifth Element Laboratory under the supervision of Kristina Dryagina was held as part of the international cinema festival Arctic Open, in December. Arctic Art Institute visited the project The Net в ZK/U – Center for Art and Urban (Berlin, Germany).
